About Sana

Sana was born in Sulaymaniyah, Iraq, and now lives in London. Her writing is inspired by a love of horror, growing up watching spooky films and listening to tales of haunted houses whilst growing up in Baghdad. Her first novel, a middle-grade horror The Twig Man, published by Hashtag Press in October 2022, has been long listed for the UKLA Book Awards and the Juniper Book Awards. The Twig Man has also been shortlisted for the Diverse Book Awards 2023, The Week Junior Book Awards 2023 and the Tower Hamlets Book Awards 2024. The Twig Man was voted Reader's Choice in 2023.
